Art & Culture on the San Francisco Bay

Set just on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, Sausalito is like a mellow and picture-perfect extension of the City. The arts are huge here - from the impressive ICB Artist Center to smaller gems like Studio 333, it’s difficult to not constantly feel inspired. Water is also about to become an important part of your life: walk along it, look at it, sail in it, practice yoga on it (with the help of a stand up paddleboard, of course). The bay is your backyard.
SF commute is super quick and totally doable via bike or ferry.

The vibe

An easygoing community with maritime roots, an undeniable appreciation for the arts, and some of the most breathtaking views in the Bay Area.

The SF commute

Practically non-existent - Sausalito is the Southernmost part of Marin County and home to the North side of the Golden Gate Bridge, so hopping into SF is doable within a matter of minutes. The drive is easy, but many locals ditch their car in favor of a quick and beautiful commute via bicycle or the Sausalito Ferry.

The Schools

Public: Willow Creek Academy (public charter, K-8); Bayside Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy (K-8); Tamalpais High School (located in Mill Valley)
Private: The New Village School (K-8); Lycee Francais (French / International, 2-5)

The real estate

Everything from picturesque and funky houseboats to sleek, modern view homes and 1920s hillside estates.
